The Chair
textile + acrylic + fiber
A single embroidered chair anchors "The Chair" against opulent damask textile—golden, textured, solitary. The juxtaposition speaks to presence and absence, the hand-stitched outline of the furniture piece dissolving into its surroundings through loose threads and unfinished edges. The work explores domestic space as both comfort and constraint, the ornate fabric pattern suggesting inherited histories and formal traditions while the sketched seat remains tentative, provisional. Through this dialogue between the permanent and the ephemeral, between decoration and utility, the piece questions what we choose to preserve and what slowly unravels in the fabric of everyday life.
Dimensions: 16”H x 16”W x 1⅜”D
